What is Graston Technique®?
Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented method of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that allows clinicians to effectively address scar tissue and fascial restrictions.
This technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to accurately identify and treat areas affected by soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
What does Graston Technique® do?
The primary objectives of this therapy are to alleviate the patient’s pain and enhance functional mobility through the following approaches:
- Addressing and breaking down scar tissue and fascial restrictions commonly associated with soft tissue injuries, such as strains or pulls of muscles, ligaments, tendons, or fascia.
- Reducing restrictions by stretching connective tissues to promote realignment and improved structural integrity of the affected soft tissues.
- Creating a supportive environment that facilitates optimal healing of the injured soft tissue.
What is myofascial release?
Myofascial Release is a chiropractic technique designed to enhance the function of muscles and connective tissues. It is a widely utilized and effective treatment option that can aid in improving range of motion, flexibility, and strength. This modality is frequently integrated with other chiropractic therapies to optimize patient outcomes.
Myofascial Release Therapy involves the manual application of gentle, sustained pressure to address restrictions in the myofascial connective tissue, with the aim of alleviating pain and restoring mobility. During the session, a specialized scraping and massage tool may be utilized to assist in releasing the fascia.
The process includes identifying areas of restriction within the myofascial tissue and applying appropriate sustained pressure to release these areas. The objective is to facilitate the elongation and realignment of collagen fibers, allowing them to return to their normal, healthy state.
